West Tisbury to Continue Dogs on Beach Discussion Tonight

A special town meeting in West Tisbury tonight will address the monitoring dogs on Lambert's Cove Beach

Last month, West Tisbury selectmen approved a 10-article warrant for a special town meeting to be held tonight at the . According to an article in the Martha’s Vineyard Times, “Among other things, voters will be asked to fund two new positions to enforce the during the summer months.”

The positions include a new assistant animal control officer (ACO) to be posted in the morning to make sure dogs are kept under control at Lambert's Cove Beach and that owners clean up after their dogs. The other position is for a new parking lot attendant to keep dog owners from bringing dogs to Lambert's Cove Beach in the evenings after town employees have left for the day.

The special town meeting begins at 7 pm tonight at the West Tisbury Elementary School.
