Accomplishment: Educated the community through film

Key to Awesomeness: Josh knew he wanted to include the Island Food Pantry as part of a community service project in preparation for his Bar Mitzvah. He thought about making some boxes or holding a food drive, but then Armin Hanjian, the Island Food Pantry coordinator, asked him if he’d be interested in making a documentary.

Coming from a family of documentary filmmakers, Josh happily agreed. Two years later, his film, "MV Food Pantry," screened at the Capawock Theater in Vineyard Haven. According to Josh, his favorite part of making the film was “meeting everybody that worked there, seeing how many people were involved.”

The film highlights the wonderful work of the Island Food Pantry, as well as the strong need for such a service in our community. For more information on future screenings of "MV Food Pantry," contact Hanjian at the Island Food Pantry.
