A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"John Wilson was the son of Medfield’s first minister, John Wilson. He is first mentioned in Medfield records in 1678 when he received money for killing a wolf. In 1685 he was teaching school here in town. He studied to become a minister and after his father died it was proposed to give him a call to be Medfield’s new minister but the town voted him down. He remained living in the Wilson Homestead, now site of town hall. He left the ministry and became a physician. He later married, remained a physician and moved to Braintree. He died in 1727."
