A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"On May 5, 1980 town meeting unanimously approved the transfer of $395,000 from Revenue Sharing funds and acquired the former St. Edward church and rectory on Main Street. (St. Edward Parish had moved to their new facilities on Spring Street). The Library Trustees began plans to expand the existing library into the rectory. Construction was completed in the summer of 1981. A Church Study Committee was then established and charged with finding an economically viable use of the church building."
