Mass. Gas Down 6 Cents Since Last Week, the Lowest Since May

There is a more of a relieve at the pump again this week.
Gas prices in Massachusetts are down another six cents from last week, making them the lowest locally since the beginning of May, announced AAA Northeast.

In a survey on Aug. 3 by AAA, the organization found that in the Bay State, self-serve, regular unleaded averaged $2.58 per gallon.
In Medfield, the lowest price per gallon of regular gasoline is $2.59 at the following locations: Irving, 26 Spring St. near Main Street.; Cumberland Farms, 560 Main St. and Spring Street; and Medfield Auto Center, 212 Main St. near Pederzini Drive, according to GasBuddy.com, a company that reports gas and diesel prices through crowd sourcing.

Prices locally are 17 cents less than a month ago. The current price is seven cents less than the national average for self-serve unleaded of $2.65. A year ago at this time, the Massachusetts average price was 98 cents higher at $3.56, said AAA in an announcement.
