The New England Revolution recently announced its 2015-16 academy rosters.

The New England Revolution recently announced its 2015-16 rosters for under-18, under-16 and under-14 teams.

The Major League Soccer (MLS) team announced its roster for the 2015-16 United States Soccer Development Academy season. Fifty-seven players from New England were selected for the three squads. Each player was selected after both invitational training sessions and open tryouts this summer, the team said.

Connor Haskell, defender, of Medfield, was selected to the New England Revolution under-16 roster. Haskell, one of 21 players on the under-16 roster, graduated from the Revolution Academy’s elite training program, the team said.

“We’re very pleased with the progress of our Academy program and believe that this group of players will represent the Revolution’s high standards,” Revolution director of youth development Bryan Scales said in a release from the team. “The returning players have earned their spots on the team and helped improve the Academy each year, while our new players have accepted a fantastic opportunity. We’re excited to get started in just a few weeks as we look to build upon last season’s success.”

During the 2014-15 season, the under-16 team advanced to the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs Quarterfinal for the first time in program history, according to the release. The squad added five new players to its roster this season.
