Medfield Wins $211K Federal Grant For Fire Department
The fire department was one of 221 nationwide to win FEMA grants.

MEDFIELD, MA — The Medfield Fire Department was awarded a $211,428 federal grant to go towards operations and safety.
The department was one of 221 nationwide to win grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Assistance To Firefighters Grant program. FEMA announced $42.4 million in direct assistance through the program, Friday, several of which went to Massachusetts fire departments.
"Since 2001, the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) has helped firefighters and other first responders obtain critically needed equipment, protective gear, emergency vehicles, training and other resources necessary for protecting the public and emergency personnel from fire and related hazards," according to a FEMA news release.
