The purpose of the tournament is to provide players with competitive hockey and a cultural exchange. John and all the Junior Bruins players will be staying with French-Canadian host families during their visit to Quebec City and are expected to be exposed to many facets of Canadian heritage, including the French language.

The trip is very expensive, with John and the Junior Bruins team needing to raise $45,000 for this once in a lifetime experience. To achieve the $45,000 goal, John and the team will be soliciting contributions from local merchants and residents.
