Grace Rowed for 62 Hours straight a year ago.

It was a year ago I was the Proud Uncle trekking to Holy Cross with my family to see my niece set a world record at Holy Cross. She rowed for 62 Hours and 3 seconds December 19-21 2019. What a proud moment for our whole family.

Grace was an inspiration then and she still is despite having her life cut short in a tragic accident. Grace was with her Holy Cross rowing team when the team van she was in was hit by a pick up truck on January 15, 2020. Grace died one day after celebrating her 20th birthday. Many rowers were hurt and many are still suffering from that tragic event. Thousands of people from around the world were affected by this story and were amazed in how Grace accomplished so much in her young lifetime.

This weekend will mark the one year anniversary of the record setting event. Grace's family and many of her friends are having a fundraising event for the length of time she rowed exactly a year ago.

This marathon fundraising effort is raising money to build the Grace Rett Athletic Complex and Education Center (G.R.A.C.E.) at the Our Lady of the Valley Regional School in Uxbridge. This is where Grace went to elementary school. It was a lifelong goal of Grace to build a gym for her school when she became an adult.
