MHS Golf Coach and Retired Teacher George Callahan Died Wednesday

Calling hours will be on Nov. 10 with a funeral on Nov. 11.

Medfield High School golf coach and retired teacher George Callahan died on Wednesday. 

In an email to the school community on Thursday, MHS Principal Robert Parga said "We will miss our friend and colleague deeply."

Callahan was a longtime member of the MHS teaching staff and will be remembered for his dedication and care for the students in Medfield, Parga said. He taught math at MHS for 36 years and had retired in 2001 but had spent the last 10 years as a substitute teacher.

Callahan served as the MHS golf coach for 21 years and was recently inducted into the MHS Wall of Fame.

Calling hours will be Sunday, Nov. 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Alexander F. Thomas & Sons Funeral Home, 45 Common Street in Walpole. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, Nov. 11, at 8 a.m.  For more information, click here.
