More Than Half Of Medfield Has At Least 1 COVID-19 Vaccine Dose

More than 91 percent of everyone over the age of 64 here has received at least one shot.

MEDFIELD, MA — More than half of the Medfield's residents have received at least one coronavirus vaccination shot, a major milestone in the local fight against the virus.

Thirty-two percent of the town's residents have been fully vaccinated and 56 percent have been at least partially vaccinated as of Thursday's numbers from the Department of Public Health. That means 6,314 residents have received either one Moderna or Pfizer dose or the single-shot Johnson & Johnson dose (the latter of which is currently under a pause.)

The town's coronavirus stats saw some improvements. The average daily incidence over the past two weeks went from 18.4 to 11.4, the two-week positivity rate went from 2.01 to 1.38 and the total two-week case count went from 29 to 18.

There have been 558 confirmed coronavirus cases in Medfield since the start of the pandemic.
