Power Outages: Nearly 700 Medfield Homes In The Dark

MEDFIELD, MA — Hundreds of Medfield homes have lost power due to severe thunderstorms across New England.

According to Eversource, 684 homes have lost power as of 7:45 p.m. Thursday. That's about 14 percent of Medfield Eversource customers without power.

A large swath of New England was under a severe thunderstorm watch Thursday afternoon as storms with the potential to bring hail, high winds, and downpours move east, according to the National Weather Service.

The severe thunderstorm watch was issued at 1 p.m. Thursday and lasted until around 8 p.m. The area under threat included almost all southern New England from Springfield to Boston, north to Waterville, Maine, and south to Hartford and Providence.
