Time To Get Tickets For Medfield Jazz Night - Friday, April 26
Craig Skeffington is guest artist performing with student ensembles; free open rehearsal 2:15-4 p.m.
This year’s Jazz Night, presented once again by Needham Bank, takes place at 7 p.m., Friday, April 26 in Medfield High School Lowell Mason Auditorium and will feature acclaimed trumpeter, arranger/composer and educator Craig Skeffington performing with Medfield High School and Blake Middle School jazz ensembles.
In addition to the evening concert, the public can gain a behind-the-scenes look at how Medfield students prepare for Jazz Night by attending a free open rehearsal and informal Q&A with Skeffington from 2:15 to 4 p.m. in the MHS auditorium on April 26. The Open Rehearsal has been recognized as an official event to kick off statewide ArtWeek, and as such, attendees can purchase Jazz Night tickets during the rehearsal only for a discounted $5 vs. the regular $12 price.
Craig Skeffington has been an active New England composer, arranger and educator for three decades with music in the jazz, marching and wind band genres. He has played with an array of jazz luminaries, including Natalie Cole, Colin Raye, The Smithsonian Jazz Masterworks Orchestra and Glenn Miller Orchestra. Skeffington has also toured nationally, and as a soloist, he has appeared with Grammy award-winning artists Wayne Bergeron and Eric Marienthal.
