Zullo Art Festival is June 10 -- a great night, for a special place!
Local food, Latin jazz, beer/wine, auction...and FOX25's Vanessa Welch, Jason Brewer and Mark Ockerbloom! Limited tix $60 pp til 6/9.
With Needham Bank back as presenting sponsor, food and beverage donations from dozens of establishments in and around Medfield, an auction featuring sought-after items, plus feel-good Latin music by Clave & Blues (with Doug Olsen), downtown Medfield will be a lively spot for the 8th Annual Zullo Art Festival and Party under the Big Tent from 7 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 – and for a limited time, with a 10-ticket discount offered.
Extra special this year: FOX25's Vanessa Welch and meteorologist Jason Brewer will emcee this year's Zullo Art Festival, and Welch's on-air partner Mark Ockerbloom will also be joining the fun!
The event, to be held on the common adjacent to the Zullo Gallery building and the Medfield Public Library, is a fundraiser for the local non-profit gallery and center for the arts to support its ongoing initiatives, including rotating exhibits, art classes and live music.

“Thanks to the continuing support of Needham Bank and the entire Medfield community, last year’s festival was one of our most successful ever, with more than 160 people in attendance. We expect this year’s gathering to be no different, said Bill Pope, executive director and founder of the Zullo. “Where else can you sample food from virtually every Medfield restaurant, and enjoy drinks, great music, and the company of friends on a summer night under a big tent…all while supporting the arts?”
Performing at the festival this year will be Clave & Blues, a Latin jazz-inspired trio led by Cuban pianist Anibal Cruz, joined by Doug Olsen on trumpet, Angel Subero on trombone, plus others. Olsen and Subero perform professionally in and around Boston, and Olsen also directs the award-winning Medfield High School Jazz Band. Subero accompanied the band on the recent Cuba trip.

Supplementing the usual party atmosphere under the tent, will be an art sale in the Zullo Gallery featuring small paintings created by artists who have exhibited in the space over the years, and an auction that includes such items as a FOX25 studio experience, and an extended weekend on Martha's Vineyard.
Event tickets are normally $75 each, but between now and June 8 (extended from June 1), the gallery is offering tickets for $60 each when 10 tickets are purchased together. Each ticket includes beer, wine and food. A limited number of discount tickets are also available through the Medfield Music Association through June 9. Anyone interested in taking advantage of the offer should send a message to mail@medfieldmusicassociation.com.
The festival ticket “10-pack” plus single tickets are on sale now at the Medfield Public Library (checks only); at the Zullo Gallery during regular hours (Saturdays and Sundays, Noon to 5 p.m.) and special events. Single tickets only are also available online via Zullogallery.org.
Founded in 1988, the Zullo Gallery Center for the Arts is a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization to support and promote the arts in Medfield. Since its inception, the gallery has presented more than 200 art exhibits, in addition to classes, concerts and other events. Exhibits have featured members of the New England Watercolor Society, Copley Society of Art and The Boston Printmakers, as well as art from student and faculty members within the Medfield school district.
The current exhibit through June 18 is a showcase of photographic work by the late Harold Haliday Costain, an award-winning, modernist American photographer who created thousands of work in variety of genres during the course of a career that spanned eight decades.
