Zullo Streams Live Music & Launches Student-Faculty Art Exhibit

Visit Zullo Gallery Facebook page for music with Justin Casinghino, plus exhibit access

The Zullo Gallery - working with the Medfield Public Schools Visual Arts Department - is happy to present this years Student-Faculty Art Exhibition Online, and also announce the continuation of a new biweekly Facebook Live music series.

The exhibit of 80 pieces will be up on the gallery web site from May 20- June 17; the next live-stream music show is 7 p.m., Thursday, May 21 on the Zullo Gallery Facebook page featuring Justin Casinghino.

Each year, the Zullo Gallery partners with the Visual Arts Department of Medfield Public Schools to display the work of students and their teachers. The student work exhibited is a selected view of the entire K-12 curriculum, which is supported by these underlying principles: visual discrimination and awareness, personal expression, and the role of choice in art.

According to exhibit organizers, each student piece has been selected as an exemplary representation of a concept or skill that is part of the art studio curriculum, and each piece is accompanied by a brief statement about the idea or inspiration behind the work.

The Zullo exhibit is but a small sample of the hundreds of artworks Medfield students produce each week in grades K-8 art classes, and in more concentrated high-school classes.

The Zullo live-stream music series was first launched from the gallery deck on what would have been “First Thursday” on May 7 and featured Jerry Potts on guitar. After Justin Casinghino on May 21, other performers to appear will include Dave Yuknat, Jill Moran and others from in and around the community. Casinghino is an award-winning composer, performer and educator associated with the Tanglewood summer youth program, Rivers Conservatory and Boston University.
