SWAT, Medford Police Resolve Mental Health Crisis

MEDFORD, MA — Medford police peacefully resolved a potential mental health crisis on Winthrop Street Monday.
Officers conducted a wellbeing check in the area of Victory Park after receiving reports a person had injured himself with a gun in the midst of a mental health episode, police said.
NEMLEC SWAT negotiators helped Medford officers resolve the situation without incident. The person was taken to a local hospital for a medical and mental health evaluation, police said.
