Apurba Devkota's Celebration Of Life Announced

MEDFORD, MA — A Celebration of Life for Apurba Devkota will be held Saturday, July 6 in Boston. The service will take place from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Cemetery, 500 Canterbury St., Boston. Classmates and friends of the recent Medford High School graduate are welcome to attend.

Devkota, 18, drowned in the Upper Mystic Lake Monday night. His sister said he was celebrating his recent graduation from Medford High School with some friends at the time.

"I am deeply saddened by the loss of a young member of the Medford Public School community," Medford Superintendent Marice Edouard-Vincent said in a statement this week. "A well-respected young man, who excelled academically and socially. Our sincerest condolences go out to the young man's family and friends."
