Coronavirus: Where Students, Residents Can Get Food In Medford

Medford has set up a way for students to get fed during the school closure. Other groups are supporting hungry residents.

MEDFORD, MA — Schools closing in Medford over the new coronavirus means many students would normally miss out on meals they usually get in school. But the district will offer "Grab n' Go" food service for students and families in need starting Monday, March 16, the Medford Public Schools said.

Students

Food will be served between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at the following locations:

  1. The McGlynn complex
  2. The Medford Youth Center, 30 Forest St.
  3. Willis Avenue Community Room. – 148 Exchange St.

Seniors

"Grab n' Go" lunches will be available for seniors between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Senior Center, 101 Riverside Ave.

Other Residents

The Unitarian Universalist Food Pantry is open Thursdays from 6-7:30 p.m.

The new Mystic Ave. Community Market is open Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
