MEDFORD, MA — Medford Animal Control is cracking down on unleashed dogs in certain public areas amid an uptick in complaints.

Leash enforcement will be "heavily increased" in the cemetery and parks, Animal Control said.

Pet owners face a $200 fine for unleashed dogs in public parks. Dogs are not allowed in the cemetery, regardless of whether they are on-leash, and violators could face a $50 fine.
