"As a fifth-generation Medford resident and a proud product of the Medford public school system, I understand the concerns of many generations," Todisco said. "After the challenges we experienced together over the past few years, I know we have more in common than what divides us. Having spent several years working in the federal government while earning my Masters in Public Administration, I learned that where our lives are most directly impacted isn’t the US Capitol, it’s city hall,” said David Todisco. “Looking at the state of our city right now, I know our taxpayers deserve more. We deserve renewed infrastructure, robust communications from our city, and a local economy that serves all residents. Coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, our city faces a critical moment. Now is the time to build upon our foundation and embrace a more progressive Medford. I’m running for City Council to move Medford forward for not just some Medford residents, but ALL Medford residents.”

David has spent the entirety of his professional career striving not only to improve the lives of families from Medford, but those across all of Massachusetts. He has worked on multiple campaigns to elect progressive Democrats to offices from City Hall to the White House, including Former Mayor of Medford Stephanie Muccini Burke, Former Ambassador Rufus Gifford, Congresswoman Lori Trahan (MA-3), and Secretary Hillary Clinton during her race for the presidency. After serving the Commonwealth as a staffer in the halls of Congress, David realized he could make a greater impact on the lives of everyday working-class families at the local level.

That's why David's fighting for a Medford with:

  • Well paved roads from properly funded infrastructure
  • Robust and equitable city services and communications
  • A revitalized downtown that meets the needs of our community

Members from throughout the community expressed enthusiasm for David’s candidacy:

“Our city council needs leaders who will work to move the city forward. David‘s experience on Capitol Hill shows he can make critical decisions, and he knows about Medford’s specific needs too. David will bring knowledge, experience, and passion to the city council, and I would be excited to work with him,” said City Councilor Nicole Morell.

“When the Black Lives Matter movement began to look at local solutions, David was crucial in advancing those conversations. He helped us pull together an agenda and write to the city about difficulties the Black community faces both in Medford and Massachusetts as a whole. David is a convener, and I’ve seen him get folks with differing views to sit down together and deliver actionable results. He is the type of leader Medford needs to keep the city moving forward,” said Jahna MacName, an activist and leader in the City of Medford.

“Speaking as a veteran, David is my first pick for City Council. Far too often, it feels like our city forgets about veterans, but David takes the time to listen to the issues affecting us. Veterans all over Medford are excited for his candidacy, and we look forward to having an ally at City Hall,” said Colin Ward, Medford resident, Veteran and member of the Medford VFW post 1012.

“I’ve watched David grow as a public servant for years. He served as Class President at Medford High School and fought for affordable student activities, and then he took his skills working to advance Medford under Mayor Muccini Burke,” said State Representative Paul Donato. “Now, after receiving his Masters in Public Administration while serving on Capitol Hill for Congresswoman Lori Trahan, David is ready to hit the ground running. He is keenly focused on improving city infrastructure, strengthening city services, and reviving Medford's local economy with a focus on Medford Square. I’m thrilled to see David is joining the race, prepared and energized to address the issues we face today.”

“David was an integral part of my campaign in the efforts to move Medford forward. He hit the pavement every day to inform residents of our work to build a new library, properly update government buildings, and ensure we are protecting our green spaces across the city. He is willing to have a conversation with any community member and always keeps an open mind to new solutions that will work for our city. He brings a can-do attitude to every situation, and coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, that is exactly the type of leader we need,” said former Medford Mayor Stephanie Muccini Burke.
