Here's Who Will Help Rename Medford's Columbus School
A 23-member Renaming Committee will review more than 300 name submissions and present three finalists to the School Committee in May.
MEDFORD, MA — The Medford School Committee on Monday appointed a 23-member committee to help rename the Columbus Elementary School.
The group consists of educators, students, parents and other community members. Members will narrow the pool of 300 name suggestions down to three finalists, with the goal of submitting them to the School Committee May 24.
If a decision is not reached, the Renaming Committee will present at the June 7 School Committee meeting. The School Committee has set July 31 as the final deadline for timeline changes.
