Long Snowstorm To Hit Medford: Timing, Snow Totals

A snowstorm will arrive Thursday afternoon, and higher snow totals will be seen closer to the Atlantic Ocean, according to forecasts.

MEDFORD, MA — A long-duration snow event will move into this region Thursday afternoon, potentially leaving up to 8 inches of snow in the Medford area.

You may see flurries Thursday morning, but the real snow won't begin until after 2 p.m. The snow will fall through Friday evening, according to the National Weather Service.

In a change from other recent snow events, this storm will bring more snow to areas closer to the Atlantic Ocean. Almost the entire state east of I-495 could pick up between 6 and 8 inches — except for the Acton and Boxborough area, which may see 4 to 6 inches.
