Longtime School Committee Member ​Lena DiGiantommaso Passes Away

MEDFORD, MA — Former School Committee member Lena DiGiantommaso passed away Dec. 13, the district announced over the weekend. A 25-year veteran of the School Committee, DiGiantommaso was one of Medford's longest-serving members.

DiGiantommaso championed for the Fine Arts Department, Medford Voke and the Curtis Tufts High School during tough financial times. She was one of the founders of the Medford High School Band Parents Organization.

Last December, the district honored DiGiantommaso by dedicating the Medford High School Band Room in her honor.

Visiting hours are Monday, Dec. 16 from 4-8 p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St.. The funeral will take place Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
