Medford Awarded $100K In Shared Streets Funding For Bus Shelters

Medford will add bus shelters to areas that have identified as high need or stops with high ridership.

MEDFORD, MA — MassDOT awarded Medford $100,000 in the fourth round of funding from the Shared Winter Streets and Spaces program.

The program, launched Nov. 10, provides technical and funding assistance to help Massachusetts cities and towns plan, design and implement changes to curbs, streets and parking areas in support of public health, safe mobility and renewed commerce, with a special focus on the particular challenges of winter.

Medford's funding will be used to add two bus shelters in Medford Square in Haines Square, areas that have been identified as high need or stops with high ridership.
