MEDFORD, MA — The city is cracking down on the use of parking space savers. Police recently asked residents to remove any savers from spots that had been dug out.

Department of Public Works crews may remove items left as parking space savers this winter, police said.

Parking is only allowed on the even side of the street in Medford during a snow emergency, according to a city ordinance.

When snow is forecasted, residents are asked to:

  • Make sure your cars are parked close to the curb
  • If possible, move your car to the even side of the street
  • Plan ahead for snow shoveling
