Medford Ends Contact Tracing Program In City Buildings

The city made the decision amid a "sustained decrease" in positive cases.

MEDFORD, MA — Medford is ending its contact tracing program due to a "sustained decrease" in positive cases across the city, officials announced Tuesday.

The change means that contact information will no longer be recorded for visitors to city facilities. The Board of Health will continue to contact trace for positive cases in Medford.

"The city came to this decision in conjunction with the Board of Health and will continue to use data to guide its reopening response and will make changes if necessary," according to a statement on Medford's Twitter page.
