Medford High School Gets $500 To Promote Substance-free Events After Prom and Graduation.
Ryan donates $500 to Medford High School.

MEDFORD, MA – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan donated $500 to Medford High School to promote substance-free events after prom and graduation.
As part of the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Middlesex Partnerships for Youth, Inc. (MPY) county-wide school safety initiatives, Ryan addressed 300 members of the Medford High School Junior Class encouraging them to make good decisions and to stay safe during this prom and graduation season.
Medford High School is one of 18 high schools in Middlesex County receiving $500 from the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office for safe post-prom and graduation events.

Ryan has hosted events across the county to encourage teenagers to make “safe choices” when attending parties and other activities with their friends.
Ryan has also spoken to parents on the topic of “social host responsibility,” warning parents and caregivers about the dangers of serving underage drinkers.

MPY is a non-profit organization which provides prevention and intervention resources and training to Middlesex school districts and communities.
Through the efforts of District Attorney Ryan and MPY, educators, parents, and students can regularly engage in collaborative trainings with law enforcement, social services, and community-based organizations as well as share the latest information and resources.
Such interactions provide the foundation for creating solution-oriented, community-based, multi-disciplinary approaches to addressing youth violence, substance abuse, child abuse and neglect, hate crimes and harassment across Middlesex County.
