Medford To Honor MLK With Socially Distant, Virtual Events

The 2021 ceremonies will extend over three days and include a walking Discovery Tour and Zoom event.

MEDFORD, MA — The Medford Human Rights Commission will honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a weekend of virtual and socially distant events. The 2021 ceremonies, titled "Medford Honors MLK," will extend over three days, beginning with an outdoor "go at your own pace" Discovery Tour around the city of Medford.

Community members are encouraged to seek clues at locations throughout the city, while practicing social distancing, wearing face coverings and traveling with members of your own household. Clues and a map will be released Jan. 16 at www.medfordma.org/departments/human-rights, and Facebook.com/MedfordHRC.

On Monday, Jan. 18, residents are invited to a virtual Zoom event hosted by Medford native Crystal Chandler. For the Zoom link and call-in information, visit www.medfordma.org/departments/human-rights. The event starts at 1 p.m.
