Medford-Malden Thanksgiving Game In Its 131st Year

The Mustangs will try to near .500 in America's second-oldest continuous high school football rivalry.

MEDFORD, MA – The Thanksgiving Day rivalry game is a storied tradition in high school football, particularly in Medford and Malden. The Turkey Day game between the former Greater Boston Leaguers is the second-oldest continuous high school football rivalry in the country, with the teams going head to head a whopping 130 times.

For a matchup dating back to the Harrison administration, it's impressive how close their record is. Malden holds a 65-55-10 edge over Medford after winning last year's nail-biter 27-22.

The Mustangs come into Thursday's game with a 3-7 record, while the 0-12 Golden Tornadoes will again try to dodge a winless season. The game starts at 10 a.m. at MacDonald Stadium in Malden.
