Medford Man Killed In Mass Pike Crash ID'd

The 21-year-old died after his motorcycle struck a wall in Boston Tuesday.

MEDFORD, MA — State police identified a Medford man killed in a motorcycle crash on the Mass Pike Tuesday.

Lynus Erickson, 21, was riding a 2002 Kawasaki EX500 on the eastbound side of the highway when the motorcycle veered from the right lane to the left lane, striking a wall on the left side, police said.

The crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in Boston. Erickson was taken to Tufts Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. Police said speed is believed to be a "contributing factor."

The left side of I-90 East was closed for nearly two hours Tuesday following the crash.
