Principal Paul D’Alleva who conducted the interviews issued the following statement: “David DiMattia distinguished himself immediately as a person who is filled with passion, enthusiasm and excitement about helping the Andrews Middle School. His compassion for the well-being of all and his flexible leadership style makes him a person who is critically open-minded about expanding the parameters of our school’s operation. He has a wealth of knowledge working with all types of students. With his appointment, I am confident that our school will continue to be a place where our students can learn and grow both academically and socially."
"I am honored to be selected to serve the Medford Public Schools in this most important role. In my educational career, my goals have always been to work to ensure the academic success of a very specialized population of students. During my days as a teacher, I found both parental and community involvement was essential to a successful classroom and school environment. It is my belief that students should be given the opportunity to develop into life-long learners through a balanced education that addresses the needs of the individual as well as the group. These are the same principles I intend to incorporate into my new role as Assistant Principal at the Andrews Middle School," said David DeMattia in a statement.
