Medford Opens Cooling Centers Amid Heat Wave

Temperatures are expected to be in the high 80s and 90s through Thursday.

MEDFORD, MA — Medford has opened cooling centers at several locations across the city due to expected high temperatures over the next several days.

While "we likely won't see 100" degrees, temperatures will be in the high 80s and 90s from Sunday through Thursday, according to forecasts.

Cooling centers will be open to all residents from Monday, June 28 through at least Wednesday, June 30.

Locations:

  • City Council Chambers at City Hall, 85 George P. Hassett Drive, 8:30am – 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 8:30am – 7:30pm on Wednesday.
  • Senior Center, 101 Riverside Ave, 9am – 6pm
  • Engine 5 Fire Station Community Room, 0 Medford Street, 9am – 6pm
  • West Medford Community Center, 111 Arlington Street, 9am – 5pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 9:30am – 6pm on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, the Police Department Community Room, 100 Main Street, will be open from 9am – 6pm
