Medford Plans Virtual, Drive-By Holiday Events

The city is planning unique ways to spread holiday cheer in lieu of traditional larger gatherings.

MEDFORD, MA — The city is planning safe events to spread holiday cheer this year. The festivities kick off Friday, Dec. 4 with an appearance by Santa Claus at City Hall.

Residents are invited to drive up to City Hall from the Ring Road entrance and wave to Santa from their car. Santa will be at City Hall from 2-4 p.m. Families can also drop their wish lists into the city's "wish bin," which will go back to the North Pole.

Tune into Medford Community Media (Comcast Channel 3 / Verizon Channel 47) on Friday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. for the lighting of the City Hall holiday decorations. Medford Community Media is compiling a video celebration that will air on Dec. 11 and will be played frequently through the end of the year.

"We are finding any way we can to lift people's spirits this year, especially at the holidays. While we cannot have our traditional, large holiday gatherings, I hope that these fun gestures can bring some holiday spirit and fun to kick off the season!" Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said.
