Dear Mustang Community:

This week’s Superintendent’s Communication includes:

  • Final Week of School information

  • COVID-19 Update

  • Upcoming Events

  • Final Week of 2020 – 2021 School Year

It is safe to say that the 2020 – 2021 school year, like the one that preceded it, was unlike any we have previously experienced.  And I know for many of our students, parents and caregivers, and dedicated educators, the fact that next week brings the school year to an end is welcome news.  I am a firm believer that challenges are opportunities to strengthen our resolve, and as we head into a well-earned summer recess, we are doing so with the type of fortitude that is realized only when a community lives through crisis and emerges toward a brighter tomorrow. Next school year, I am confident our school communities will again be filled with the laughter, curiosity, and joy that has at times been muzzled behind face coverings and diminished by mandatory social distancing.  So as we look ahead to our final week of this school year, let me again express my profound gratitude to the patience, flexibility, and positive energy that so many members of our Mustang community have exhibited in the face of so much hardship.  We have one more week to go, so let’s finish strong!

Our afternoon dismissal times for students next week at each grade level are as follows:

    COVID-19 Report

The MPS COVID-19 testing program identified one positive pool across the district this past week while conducting 4155 COVID-19 tests.

As more and more of our students are obtaining their COVID-19 vaccines, I remind families to please submit vaccination records to the school nurse so they can be kept on file with our Health Services Department.
