Medford Restaurant Updates: New Opening, Understaffing Woes

Here's what's been going on in the Medford restaurant scene.

MEDFORD, MA — A new restaurant recently opened on Spring Street, while another has been forced to temporarily close due to staffing issues. First the good news: Neighborhood Kitchen opened in the former Baity location on Spring Street, offering an eclectic mix of fare.

According to a screenshot of the menu on a Patch neighborhood post, the restaurant features Caribbean, Asian and American cuisine. The restaurant held a soft opening in November, five months after Baity, one of the few Egyptian restaurants in the area, shut down.

Meanwhile Dim Sum Cafe, a Chinese restaurant on Fellsway West, is contending with staffing issues. According to a post on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page, the restaurant has closed due to understaffing. The closure is planned to last "a short period of time," according to the sign.
