Medford Snow Estimates Increase: Winter Storm Warning
The latest forecasts predict up to a foot of snow Monday.

MEDFORD, MA - Looks like Medford will be getting more snow than originally anticipated as a Winter Storm Warning has been issued for all day Monday until Tuesday morning.
The National Weather Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow from 4 a.m. Monday morning until 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. The earlier Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

The Winter Storm Warning includes the Greater Boston area, North Shore westward to Worcester and south into Connecticut, as well as all of Rhode Island and adjacent Eastern Massachusetts communities.
Eight to 12 inches of accumulating snow is expected from this system.

The snow will overspread the area Monday morning from 4-7 a.m., then becomes heavy at times after 8 a.m. and continues into the early afternoon. The snow intensity begins to diminish by mid afternoon. Winds will be from the north at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
Officials say travel will be slow at best on well-treated surfaces and difficult on any unplowed or untreated surfaces. Drivers can expect visibilities of a quarter mile or less at times.
