Medford Vaccine Supply Comes Up Short
"I am as frustrated by this news as you are," Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said Wednesday about not having the doses needed for Phase 2.
MEDFORD, MA — The state has not provided Medford with the doses needed for Phase 2 of vaccinations. Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said in a community update Wednesday that state-operated sites are the priority, and supplies are being directed there.
"Please know that I am as frustrated by this news as you are," the mayor said. "We are working hard and will continue to work hard to make this vaccine available to our residents, right here in Medford, as soon as we are given vaccine doses from the state."
Anyone ages 75 and older will be eligible for the vaccine starting Feb. 1. Lungo-Koehn said that not everyone eligible will be able to get vaccinated that day, as it is contingent on supplies being made available from state and federal governments.
