Medford Water to Be Measured and Explained

WaterSmart will aim to help Medford residents easily track their water use.

MEDFORD, MA - The city today announced a comprehensive program to thousands of households and businesses throughout the city that educates and informs the community on water use. WaterSmart recognizes the importance of resident engagement and the provision of tools that will allow Medford residents to easily track their water use, a release said.

"The City of Medford is confident that WaterSmart will providing an easy to use portal for residents and business owners to monitor and manage their water use, act by informing residents and business owners when a possible leak is detected, and provide tools that help staff respond promptly and consistently when contacted," a release said. "This program educates residents on their water use through social platforms and other tools, while also providing a robust program reporting and tracking data analysis for the City of Medford."
“The WaterSmart program will assist in educating residents about water conservation and provide easily accessible information with recommendations on how to properly conserve water,” said Mayor Stephanie M. Burke in a statement. “We are pleased to offer a reliable, innovative and cost-effective resource for the City of Medford to utilize.”
