The 26-year-old local is one of 13 new members on the 34-member team.

MEDFORD, MA – Medford's own Alicia Capone is one of the newest members of the New England Patriots cheerleading squad. The 26-year-old physical therapist at Spaulding Rehab was chosen to be one of 13 rookies on the 34-member squad, according to the Medford Transcript.

After trying out three times for the team, Capone told the Transcript she "still can't believe it." The Arlington Catholic graduate was selected from a pool of 300 people who auditioned for the squad.

Capone made her debut in the Patriots' preseason win over the Washington Redskins Aug. 9.
