Middlesex Sheriff Offers Summer Program For Children

Youth Academy is open to children ages 8-12 in Middlesex County.

MEDFORD - The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office is accepting enrollment of children in Middlesex County ages 8-12 in its 2017 Youth Public Safety Academy (YPSA).

The academy runs fron July 24 to July 28 at the Middlesex Training Academy at 40 Brick Kiln Road, Chemlsford. There’s a $75 fee per child.

Cadets learn about basic first aid skills, fire safety, tour local fire and police stations, watch K9 demonstrations, and participate in fun activities that build self-esteem and instill teamwork.

Now in its 18th year, YPSA provides a safe, educational, low-cost summer camp option for Middlesex County youth.

Transportation and lunch are provided and a graduation ceremony in Chelmsford.
