Obituary: Wayne McKenzie, 57, Of Medford

Wayne R. McKenzie, age 57, of Medford passed away unexpectedly at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital on October 3, 2018. Born in Somerville he was the son of Dorothy (Bradley) McKenzie of Medford and the late Arthur McKenzie.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Medford and was a 1980 graduate of Medford High School. He was a talented artist specializing in illustrations, cartoons and characters. He also enjoyed writing and illustrating children's books and was a huge Sci-Fi enthusiast. Wayne also loved staying in touch with his many close and dear groups of friends from his childhood who were always there for each other throughout his life.

In addition to his beloved mother, Wayne is survived by his cherished siblings; Deborah Maloney and her husband Thomas of Medford, Nancy Aurilio and her husband Jack of Billerica, Arthur McKenzie and his wife Gail of Malden, David McKenzie and his wife Sarah of Freemont, NH. He was the loving uncle of Brian McKenzie of Medford and many more loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, October 9th, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:30 p.m. Interment services will be private.
