MEDFORD, MA — A southern food and live music spot that was first announced over a year ago held a soft opening in Medford Tuesday. The Porch Southern Fare & Juke Joint moved to River's Edge after closing in Wakefield last June.

At the time, it was projected to open in the fall, and later delayed until spring 2019. Mayor Stephanie M. Burke shared photos from inside the restaurant Tuesday, days after its Facebook page teased an opening this week. Burke said a grand opening announcement is coming soon.

Owner Jonathan Post told Boston Restaurant Talk last year the eatery will feature live music, a bar and cocktail lounge, pool tables, a private dining room and outdoor seating. The restaurant will have the "same food, totally different experience," Post wrote on the Friends of Boston's Hidden Restaurants Facebook page in January.
