Retired Medford Firefighter Robert Minichiello Passes Away

MEDFORD, MA — Retired Medford firefighter Robert Minichiello has died, the Medford Fire Department announced Saturday. Minichiello, a 29-year veteran of the department, passed away Jan. 8.

Minichiello joined the Medford Fire Department on Sept. 9, 1962 and retired Dec. 31, 1991. He was assigned to Engine 2 and Engine 6 over the course of his career and served as Temporary Intermittent Lieutenant from Jan. 1, 1978 to Sept. 14, 1980, the department said.

"The members of Local 1032 are keeping his loved ones in their thoughts during this difficult time," the Medford firefighters' union said in a statement.
