MEDFORD, MA — The popular Showtime series "Dexter" is returning for another season, and a couple scenes may look familiar to fans in Medford.

Television crews will be at Lawrence Memorial Hospital Wednesday, May 12 and Thursday, May 13. According to a letter sent to nearby residents, filming will be limited to two spaces within the hospital and two exterior night-time shots.

Crews began setting up shop at the hospital Tuesday. There will be production vehicles parked on Governors Avenue and Lawrence Road, as well as a police detail, on Wednesday and Thursday, the letter states. Nighttime filming may extend to 1 a.m. Thursday night.

"Dexter," starring Michael C. Hall as a police blood spatter expert who channels his psychopathy to hunt down criminals, was hailed by critics and viewers before petering out toward the end of its eight-season run.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips says he hopes the 10-episode revival will rectify some mistakes of the widely panned series finale.
