2 More City Councilors Will Seek Re-election
Every at-large and ward seat now has someone vying for it.

MELROSE, MA — Every City Council seat has one person vying for it after two incumbents declared their intention to seek re-election.
Jeff McNaught and Robb Stewart, who represent Wards 2 and 3, respectively, pulled papers Wednesday to get back on the ballot. They were the only two councilors who had not made their intentions publicly known after a flurry of activity in the previous two days.
The City Council will have at least two new councilors after John Tramontozzi in Ward 1 and Cory Thomas in Ward 7 said they will not run again; Manjula Karamcheti and Ryan Williams pulled papers in Wards 1 and 7, respectively.

Any additional new councilors would mean an incumbent's defeat, as every other at-large and ward councilor has pulled papers. If things remain as they do now, there wouldn't be one competitive City Council race — though there are months left for residents to choose to run.
School Committee member John Obremski also pulled papers, joining Chair Jen McAndrew.
