Amateur Baseball Classic In Melrose This Weekend

MELROSE, MA - The fifth annual Eastern Massachusetts Amateur Baseball Classic will be Saturday, July 9 at Morelli Field in Melrose.

This event will feature All Star teams from each of the four amateur baseball leagues in the Boston area including the Melrose Americans representing the Intercity League, a release said. These will all be 9 inning games. The tournament will be a one day event with no consolation game. The schedule for the tournament will be:
1:00 PM – Boston Park League @ Intercity League (Melrose Americans)
4:30 PM – Cranberry Baseball League @ Yawkey Baseball League
7:30 PM – Championship Game
There is a $5 charge for admission. Last year the InterCity League took home the Louis T. DiTullio Memorial Trophy with a 6-3 victory over the Yawkey League. The Melrose Recreation Department will be providing concessions and free kids activities. For more information go towww.cranberryleague.com.
