Republican City Committee Kick Starts Emergency Fund's Annual Drive

The Melrose Republican City Committee helped the Melrose Emergency Fund’s annual fund-raising season get off to a roaring start with a donation of over $1,000 from individual members and a guest bartender event at .

“I am very grateful for the generosity of the committee, Lori Muse of Absolutely Fabulous, and the guests who attended this event,” said Mayor Rob Dolan. “These donations will provide a brighter holiday season for many of our neighbors.”

“I want to thank all those who came out and participated,” said Republican City Committee Chairman Scott Conway. “It was great to see people come above partisan politics, not care about what party you are but care about their neighbors, and help them put food on their tables this coming winter.”

The Melrose Emergency Fund provides one-time help for Melrose residents who are suffering financial  hardship. The fund is supported entirely by donations and every penny raised goes to direct aid to local families—there are no administrative costs.

To make a donation, send a check to Melrose Emergency Fund, , 562 Main St., Melrose, MA 02176 or bring it directly to the Mayor’s Office on the second floor of .

Checks should be made out to the City of Melrose, with “Melrose Emergency Fund” in the memo line. For more information about the fund, call 781-979-4440.
