The store and their customers came together for an important cause, raising $2,121 in Shamrocks Against Dystrophy donations that will be used to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) research and services programs.
From February 24 through March 17, the grocery store chain sold green and gold Shamrocks to benefit MDA. Funds raised by the Melrose Shaw's store help local individuals and families affected by Muscular Dystrophy and related diseases.

The popular fundraiser helps to support MDA’s unparalleled worldwide research program and national network of some 200 clinics, including Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Shamrock sales also help send local children with neuromuscular diseases to the barrier-free MDA summer camp at Camp Allen in Bedford, NH.
