Cops Sniff Out Smelly Skunk: Melrose Police Log

MELROSE, MA — The following are excerpts from the Melrose police log for the week of March 8:

Monday, March 8

8:27 p.m. — Report of a suspicious vehicle in the school lot.

11:52 p.m. — Thousands of customers out of power from Melrose into Saugus.

Wednesday, March 10

12:23 p.m. — A 49-year-old Woburn woman was issued a summons on charges of speeding in violation of a special regulation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle after being pulled over on Lebanon Street.

9:40 p.m. — Someone reported a car hit a house on West Wyoming and took off.

Thursday, March 11

2:35 p.m. — A person found someone else's purse in his trash barrel on Easy Wyoming.

Friday, March 12

5:25 a.m. — Someone called police to report a skunk-like odor outside a Vinton Street apartment. Police confirmed a skunk-like smell. Caller was told to contact animal control.
