Drop-Off and Pick-Up Changes at Middle School and High School

School parking lots now closed in mornings, afternoons.

Families of Melrose High School and Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School students will no longer have access to school parking lots from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. and from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. on school days, a change made with safety in mind according to a press release from Superintendent Joe Casey.

Instead, of pulling into the parking lots, families should drop-off and pick-up students on the school side of Lynn Fells Parkway or the school side of Melrose Street. Families may also drop-off and/or pick-up on the football side of Tremont Street.

"We have approximately 2,300 students and staff entering and walking through the lots on a daily basis," Casey said in the release. "We see this as a safety issue when over 400 family vehicles enter our parking lots within a short period of time. We thank you in advance for helping us to provide a safe and secure environment for our schools."
